Saturday Writers 2012 Official Writing Contest Rules

Please note that both members and non-members of Saturday Writers are welcome and fully encouraged to enter any and all of the writing contests offered in 2012.
1. There is a $5 fee per entry for members and $7 for non-members. A maximum of three entries will be accepted per person, per contest.
2. Unless otherwise specified, stories must be 2012 words or less.
3. The works must be unpublished at the time of submission and the original work of the contestant. Unpublished includes NOT published on internet or blog sites.
4. Send two copies for each entry.
5. Include a cover sheet for each entry with title of the work, name, contact information (address, phone number, or email), and word count. No identification should appear on the entry, only on the cover sheet.
6. All work must be typed and double-spaced on one side of paper and pages must be numbered.
7. You may mail your fee and two copies of your work to:

8. You may also hand-in your fee and entry to one of the board members during our monthly meeting.
9. All checks should be made payable to "Saturday Writers". Paypal online payments are available for current contests. (Indicate that you paid using Paypal on your cover sheet), Click here to use Paypal to pay your entry fee(s).
10. The decision of our Judge(s) is final. Judges will be from OUTSIDE of Saturday Writers, as a result ALL members are eligible to enter ALL contests.
11. Entries will not be returned.
12. SW reserves the right to consolidate or cancel any contest or catagory receiving less than 5 unique entries
13. Winning entries only will earn a spot in the Official 2012 Saturday Writers Book. Specific information about the Official Saturday Writers Book will be posted as it becomes available.
